Pok-A-Dot is
one of those incredible little "greasy spoon" types of places that you
think aren't around anymore... but this one is. It's a very small
restaurant, so don't expect a spacious and comfortable dining
experience, but appreciate it for what it is! A throwback to the good
old days. We love their hot dogs so much that's all we ever get when we
go here. It's a true Batavia tradition, made famous by John Gardner's
mention in The Sunlight Dialogs. But don't take his word for it, and
don't even take our word for it. Just head over to Pok-a-Dot yourself
and find out what you have been missing for all these years! 229 Ellicott St Batavia, NY 14020 (585) 343-6775
Sport of Kings Family Restaurant
is an after-the-bar haven because it's open 24 hours, but any time of
day it's a wonderful place to go and get some really delicious food. We
absolutely love the souvlaki here, and everyone goes crazy over their
famous biscuits and gravy. As you can tell from that previous sentence,
the menu is a mix of traditional Greek delicacies and home cooked
American favorites. The portions are enormous, and the food is always
hot, fresh, and so tasty. The vibe of Sport of Kings is a bit more like
a truckstop than a restaurant and that's something that we enjoy about
it. Definitely give this place a try when you're in the area. 419 W Main Rd Batavia, NY 14020 (585) 343-1274
Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar is
an oft-overlooked dining option in Batavia simply because it's one of
those chain restaurants that everybody has been to a million times, but
we love this particular location. They've always got the friendliest
servers and the staff behind the scenes puts in a lot of extra work to
make your dining experience a pleasant one. The food is top notch here,
really prepared with care and served hot. Very clean and nicely
decorated environment too. Just an all around great dining experience
that won't cost you an arm and a leg! 8322 Lewiston Rd Batavia, NY 14020 (585) 344-0600
Center Street Smoke House
has a modern yet retro vibe that we can't get enough of. The classic
feeling of the old brick exterior and neon signs reminiscent of the
80s... but then you've got the delicious menu that reflects the tastes
of today. We absolutely love the chicken nachos and the homemade kettle
chips, and we'd also very highly recommend the pulled chicken
sandwiches and baked sweet potatoes. Yum! Cooked just perfectly and
served with delicious extras (like the cinnamon honey butter that comes
with the sweet potatoes) that really make all the difference. Great
service and a wonderful atmosphere too. Very highly recommended. 20 Center St Batavia, NY 14020 (585) 343-7470
Pontillo's Pizza & Pasta
is such a familiar spot to anyone who dines regularly in Batavia.
They're known for having some of the best pizza and pasta around, and
we will vouch for that fact. We love their deliciously doughy crusts
and the heavy sprinkling of cheeses and toppings. Best of all, the
service is very fast and friendly, and the restaurant is kid friendly
and casual. Wonderful place to dine with the family, to pick up some
take-out to enjoy at home, or even to call up for some quick delivery.
They're open until 11:00PM most nights and until midnight on Fridays
and Saturdays! 500 E Main St Batavia, NY 14020 (585) 343-3303
Main Street Pizza Company is
another pizza restaurant in the Batavia area that we just can't get
enough of. All of our friends are addicted to the pizza and say it's
their favorite in town, but what we are hooked on is those delicious
barbecue grilled wings! Soooo good. If you order the pizza, we
recommend trying the deep dish. The thin crust is good too, but that
rich delicious deep dish has had us singing its praises for years now.
Huge portions, great service, and the kind of ambiance that is all too
hard to find nowadays. Definitely one of our favorite places to dine
and relax with friends in Batavia. 206 East Main St. Batavia, NY 14020 (585) 343-0007
Alex's Place
is wonderful for family dinners and even for intimate dates. We tend to
go for the steaks and soups here because they are so good, but you
can't go wrong with anything that they offer. The beef barley soup is
one of our favorites, and we love their Angus steaks paired with a
hearty baked potato. The seafood is also delicious here, and don't miss
that French onion soup either! Upscale atmosphere with fireplaces and
dressy waitstaff... This is a very nice place to bring the family or to
gather with good friends for some wonderful food and drinks. Great
dessert too! Always a pleasure dining here. 9322 Park Rd Batavia, NY 14020 (585) 344-2999
Miss Batavia Family Restaurant
is a real tradition of an old fashioned diner in our city. The meatloaf
and mashed potatoes is a true classic, and we can't imagine not
stopping in at least once during every trip to Batavia to enjoy that
perfect combination. We remember dining here in the 80s and playing the
jukeboxes that were installed at every table! Unfortunately those
aren't a part of the decor anymore, but everything else is just as good
as it was then. Very friendly staff and a decor scheme that's a true
delight. It's so much fun to dine here with friends and family! 566 E Main St Batavia, NY 14020 (585) 343-9786
Can you forgive us for listing one more pizzeria here? We can't help ourselves. Pauly's Pizzeria
has some of the very best pizza pies around, and we also adore their
spicy hot Buffalo wings, their cheesy gooey mozzarella sticks, and all
the delicious sauces that they have to dip them in. Very friendly
staff, super fast service, and some of the best pizzeria-style food
that we can find in Batavia. What more can we say about this excellent
spot? Don't miss it. 314 Ellicott St Batavia, NY 14020 (585) 343-3100
Tully's
is famous for its comfortable atmosphere and delicious dining
experience, and their sports bar ambiance and drinks are worth a
mention too! Everybody just loves this place. In terms of the food, our
favorite things are the chicken tender salad and the chicken tenders,
and you've just got to order the honey mustard every time. It's so
good! Everyone we know goes crazy over it. If you're there to drink,
they've got an impressive selection of beer both on draft and in
bottles, and the bartending staff is always very attentive, making sure
that your glass stays filled. One of the coolest spots in Batavia,
hands down. 522 E Main St Batavia, NY 14020 (585) 343-9030
