Poppy's
is a very impressive little spot that we've found that caters to the
gourmet crowd. Sweet potato chips, grass-fed beef, organic
selections... And the best thing is that everything is really
delicious. You don't have to skimp on flavor to go green. Speaking of
green, we love the jalapeno aioli, and the jalapeno mustard is also a
must! The restaurant is quite small, only six tables, but the wait is
never long. Coke lovers will rejoice at the fact that they have the
real thing here, and by real thing, we mean made with actual sugar,
just like back in the day. The burgers are the star of the show here,
and they are superb. 184 Main St Beacon, NY 12508 (845) 765-2121
Homespun Foods
is another organic restaurant that we're in love with. They keep it
simple here and we appreciate that. You place your order at the
counter, they bring you your meal, and when you're finished you take
your own dishes back. The soup of the day is always a nice treat, and
we love the breakfast burritos here though that's a weekend-only
specialty. Dessert lovers will definitely want to try those spicy
chocolate cookies. That's a flavor combination that you have to taste
to believe, and it is good! Coffee lovers will also really love the
roast here, which is a little less robust than what you may be used to
at your favorite espresso shop, but very tasty and a great pick-me-up.
Very highly recommended! 232 Main St Beacon, NY 12508 (845) 831-5096
Chill Wine Bar
is another favorite on this list, really offering a great selection of
wines in an atmosphere that is so warm and welcoming. There's a big
after-work crowd here, as well as friends and couples coming to hang
out later in the evening, and it always seems like they are packed with
happy customers yet never too overcrowded. The bartenders are very
friendly which makes us want to come back time and time again, and if
all that wasn't enough, they also have live jazz on Saturday nights.
Enough said. Chill Wine Bar is a true winner in our book. 173 Main St. Beacon, NY 12508 (845) 765-0885
We love coming to Max's On Main
on the weekends to enjoy the live bands that play, and the best part of
it is that you'll never find yourself having to pay a cover charge. The
beer selection is incredible here, and they shift selections in and out
with the seasons, so there's always something new and flavorful to try
either on tap or in bottles. As for the grub, we'd recommend the
pierogies and the fish tacos. Always delicious! The baby back ribs are
also to die for. If we were giving Max's On Main an award, it would be
"Most Likely to Be Mentioned as Favorite Restaurant in Beacon."
Everybody raves about this place. Don't miss it. 246 Main St Beacon, NY 12508 (845) 838-6297
Artisan Wine Shop
is a true essential for the wine connoisseur. At the time of this
writing, they have wine tastings every Friday and Saturday, from
4:00PM-7:00PM and 3:00PM-6:00PM respectively. They always know the
perfect food to pair with that wine, and vice versa. If you want to
choose your own wines, since they organize their selections by flavor
and body, it makes it very easy for even wine novices to make a choice
on par with an expert. You're sure to find some wines that you have
never seen before, even if you consider yourself a vineyard pro.
Wonderful food, wonderful ambiance, wonderful staff. You can't go wrong
here. 180 Main St Beacon, NY 12508 (845) 440-6923
BJ's Restaurant
is a must for those who love southern style barbecue. Delicious oxtails
with meat that falls right off the bone just the way it should... corn
bread that's perfectly baked with mind-blowing flavor... Gravy-covered
rice that will make your mouth water... Delish candied yams and collard
greens... and of course that famous fried chicken. After all that,
you'll be lucky to have room left for dessert, but you'd be wise to
save some room, because their cakes are out of this world. Don't miss
this place, it's one of the best. 213 Main St Beacon, NY 12508 (845) 831-1221
School of Jellyfish
is an interesting combination of coffee and tea bar, organic chocolate
shop, juice bar, and restaurant. They've got a full menu of delicious
selections including some really delicious soups and vegetarian
platters. We love to sit around and enjoy some great conversation while
noshing on their unbelievable organic chocolates and truffles, and when
you pair that with a strong cup of java or perhaps your favorite tea,
it's a real slice of heaven. The owners of this cafe have put in
serious work to make this place as wonderful as it is, and we really
love it. We're sure you will too. Very highly recommended. 183 Main St Beacon, NY 12508 (646) 642-9263
Cafe Amarcord
is a very nice place to dine, whether it's for an impressive lunch with
a friend or a romantic dinner with your significant other. We're hooked
on their mussels and veal, and of course you cannot go wrong with the
filet mignon, but that's a given! They also have crab macaroni and
cheese that is really unbelievable, and we'd recommend the braised
short ribs over papardelle too. Really unbelievable flavor. The
atmosphere is very nice and classy, and the servers put in extra work
to make sure that you are truly satisfied. Really an all around
pleasant dining experience! 276 Main St Beacon, NY 12508 (845) 440-0050
Beacon Falls Cafe
has got to be one of our favorite places in Beacon to stop in for a
delicious lunch. The bacon bleu burger is our absolute favorite thing
there, and once you taste that you'll wonder why we don't put bacon and
bleu cheese on everything. It's that good. Breakfast is also amazing
here, with chorizo and asiago frittatas, French toast, goat cheese
frittattas, mini muffins... so many different things to get your day
off to a great start. Very highly recommended for any meal, or truly,
EVERY meal! We love this place! 472 Main St Beacon, NY 12508 (845) 765-0172
Brother's Trattoria
is a great Italian restaurant where you can nosh on all your favorite
flavors of Italia in a really warm and friendly setting. They keep it
pretty basic here, not quite what we'd call gourmet or "fancy," but
that's what we love about it. It's great for nights out with the family
and the kids, just relaxing in a comfortable restaurant with some
hearty food. We really love their pizzas and the meatball parmesan
sandwiches. For an easy upgrade (perhaps for that special date!) ask to
sit in the dining room in the back. The decor is beautiful and the
ambiance is very romantic. 465 Main St Beacon, NY 12508 (845) 838-3300 |
