Rheinblick German Restaurant is a real boon for those who love German food as much as we do. We've had the pleasure or visiting many German restaurants in our time, and very few have come close to the level of quality that you receive here. From the comfortable atmosphere to the wonderful service, from the delicious flavors of the food to the hearty portions. We love the schnitzel, the steaks, and the delicious greens with carmelized onions. Everything that they serve here is fantastic, but the best part is the relaxed feeling that you get when you dine here. Very highly recommended.

NY Wine and Culinary Center has a wonderful restaurant hidden away inside of it, and if you haven't tried it yet, it's about time that you do. A few of our favorites are their artisan cheese plate, the blue point mussels in a delicious wheate ale broth, their belgian fries, and of course that unforgettable lentil salad. The charcuterie plates are also amazing, with plenty of pate and all the trimmings. Definitely a cut above the rest in this area. The service is really fantastic, and the ambiance is just stunning. You do not want to miss this place when you're in Canandaigua!

Simply Crepes was just made for the crepe addict in all of us, and if you can't relate to that, then we don't even understand! The offerings here are just all over the spectrum, from a creamy pommes brie crepe to an all-American ruben crepe! Wow. Of course they've got the Nutella fruit crepes for dessert, which no one can ever resist. Everything that they serve here is designed to blend unexpected flavors into a true gourmet crepe masterpiece, and we say they do it very well! If we were rating this restaurant on any type of scale, it would be off the charts. Simply Crepes definitely gets our recommendation and then some!

Rio Tomatlan is Mexican food at its finest, located right here in Canandaigua. It's found in the downtown area, but a little more hidden on a side street, and from the moment that you first walk in and see all the bright decor, you'll wonder why you didn't discover this place sooner! The fish tacos are truly delicious, and what we love is that they are seared in garlic butter instead of being deep fried. Amazing! Of course it's quite messy to eat, so it's not necessarily "date night" food, but it's amazing when you can get away with it! Delish chips and salsa and flan here too. Very highly recommended!

Schooners Restaurant is so comfortable, just perfect for those family dinners or get-togethers with friends. The blackened salmon is one of our personal favorites, and the open faced prime rib sandwich is just out of this world. Lobster bisque is one of our favorite things in the world, and they just happen to have it here on Fridays and Saturdays. It's some of the best that we have ever tasted. Note that it can be pretty crazy here on the weekends, so reservations are very strongly recommended! High quality food, excellent service, and the kind of atmosphere that you can only find right here in Canandaigua. Don't miss it.

Casa de Pasta is of course a delicious Italian restaurant that's very cozy and intimate, and very much family-style. It's great when you want to get together with friends for some good food and great conversation, and of course it's perfect for family dinners as well. The wait can be a bit much here, even with a reservation, so plan to arrive early and wait a while. (Trust us: It's worth it!) Beyond the delicious pastas that they're known for, they also have a wide variety of desserts including some of the best pies we've ever tasted. Give them a try next time you're there!

Eric's Office Restaurant, as you can tell from the name, is what we'd file under the "Unique" category. Truly eclectic decor that you have to see to believe, because if we tried to describe it here you'd only be left confused! It's quirky, kitschy, funky... you name it. And we love it. The best thing though, is the food! You will definitely want to try the chocolate rubbed beef tenderloin, and all of their burgers are fantastic. Seafood lovers will want to make a note of the seafood bisque and the scallop caprese salad. Yum! Everything here is just out of this world, and great service too!

MacGregor's Grill & Tap Room of Canandaigua is one of those awesome little bars and restaurants where everybody in Canandaigua goes, and the reason for that is that it's just so cozy and homey. The kind of bar you can really relax in. Their food is always consistent and delicious, from great burgers to chicken, all those bar staples. The beer selection is wide and varied, and they've even got an array of souvenirs if you're the type who likes to spend a little extra and grab a memento! This place has a kind of charm that's all too rare these days. We love it.

Pontillo's Pizzeria is a real Canandaigua classic, and though everyone we know says that the exterior is a real turn-off, the pizza is on par with a true New York City pizza (though with a thicker crust), really piled up with tons of toppings, and with just the perfect amount of sauce and cheese. The staff is always so friendly and accommodating. The pepperoncinis are the best that we've had at any pizzeria, really mouth watering and good. We can't say enough about how great this place is! Very highly recommended, and completely irresistible!

Jose & Willy's at the Lake is our favorite place to go after a long day at the lake. They've got all your favorite bar fare to fill you up, including a ton of different flavors of wings, all of which are excellent. No need to go to one of those chain wings restaurants when you can go someplace authentic like this. We love the homey atmosphere and the friendly waitstaff, and it's just an all around really nice escape right there on Lakeshore Drive. The location can't be more convenient when you're coming in from the water. Very highly recommended.
