Davidson Brothers Restaurant & Brewery is
the essential brewery in Glens Falls as far as we are concerned! We
love coming in to enjoy an ice cold brew with a group of our buddies,
and even better to pair it with a delicious meal! It's typically quite
packed here, because you can't keep a good thing a secret for long. So
arrive early if you'd like a good seat, and that's doubly true if it's
a night when they have live music! You definitely want a good seat for
that. It's tough to find a really good brewpub, but we have been more
than satisfied with this one, and that's why we keep on coming back for
more. We love the old fashioned brick building, the retro vibe, and the
totally modern brews! Too good! 184 Glen St Glens Falls, NY 12801 (518) 743-9026
Bistro Tallulah
is an upscale New Orleans style restaurant that you can go to for a
truly delicious dinner. The entrees are what we'd call small plates, so
as opposed to the typical American restaurants nowadays, you can
actually get soup, salad, and even an appetizer or dessert without
being overstuffed! One of our favorite items on the menu is the hangar
steak, it's always cooked perfectly to order and the flavor is just out
of this world. The service is just unbelievable here, really high class
and attentive. The cioppino is delicious here, and we'd very highly
recommend the grilled scallops salad as a delicious pre-entree starter!
Their mashed potatoes are an essential too. Very highly recommended! 26 Ridge St Glens Falls, NY 12801 (518) 793-2004
New Way Lunch,
also known as Dirty John's, is known for their amazing hot dogs, and
what we love is that all you've got to do is order as many as you like
"with the works" and you've got a plate of perfection. This restaurant
has been in business since 1919, and that's completely due to their
high quality and their incredible flavor. You'll want to note that they
have yellow mustard here as opposed to the spicy brown that you may
enjoy, but that yellow mustard is just part of the tradition
here! We wouldn't change it for the world. The dogs snap when you bite
into them, for another bit of old school nostalgia. They don't make 'em
like this anymore... oh wait, yes they do. But only here at New Way
Lunch/Dirty John's. 54 South St Glens Falls, NY 12801 (518) 792-9803
GG Mama's Upscale Comfort Food.
The name says it all. Walking into this super cozy restaurant, you
really feel like you're visiting a good friend's house rather than an
actual business! It's decorated in such a homey way, with candles
glowing and art displayed on the walls. The owner is always chatting
with the customers, which adds to that feeling that you're just
visiting a friend's home. Note that the menu is VERY limited here, just
a few selections that are swapped out frequently, but that only lends
more to the authentic feeling! We won't detail the food since it
changes so often, but we will tell you that it fits the definition of
true comfort food, and it's always cooked perfectly and served piping
hot. GG Mama's Upscale Comfort Food is wonderful, don't miss this one! 239 Ridge St Glens Falls, NY 12801 (518) 793-5134
Gourmet Cafe
is an essential for anyone who loves pasta. Their pasta nights are in a
league of their own, with Chef Francis creating sauces based on your
whims. He claims to be able to whip up forty different sauces on the
fly, and it certainly seems to be true. If you'd like a recommendation,
we have loved the basil pesto cream sauce with white wine and have
ordered it many times! You'll definitely want to make sure that you
make reservations, because it gets quite crowded here and the wait can
be a long one. The ambiance is actually quite simple and understated
despite the high quality of the food. We like that contrast, and we
enjoy the casual vibe. Try the sandwiches for lunch, they're great! 185 Glen St Glens Falls, NY 12801 (518) 761-0864
Poopie Di Manno's
is a real classic when it comes to diner fare in Glens Falls. It's been
here seemingly forever, and it never seems to change -- and yes, that
is a good thing! The breakfasts are addictive, the hamburgers are so
juicy and good, and how about that old fashioned diner style service?
It's famous for a reason, and all those autographed photos on the wall
are evidence of that. EVERYBODY loves Poopie's. The only downside we
can possibly find here is that it's cash only, but that keeps it
authentic to its old school roots. Just stop at the ATM on your way in,
it's worth an extra couple of minutes and whatever your ATM fee may be.
Trust us! Favorite thing here? The bacon cheeseburger with grilled
onions. Delish! 54 Lawrence St Glens Falls, NY 12801 (518) 792-6155
Rock
Hill Bakehouse is just too addictive. The fair trade coffees were the
thing that brought us in in the first place, and the Thai chicken soup
is what made us stay. They've got a ton of delicious lunch specials
that will fill you up in a truly nourishing way, and most of them are
less than ten bucks including your drink. The breads are amazing here,
and we really love their cookies too. You'll be happy to know that
there's free wi-fi so you can get online and get some work done while
you enjoy that coffee, and the creative book worm types will enjoy both
the piano and the lending library. Bring the kids too, they've got lots
of games here for them to play. An all around excellent place to spend
an afternoon! 19 Exchange St Glens Falls, NY 12801 (518) 615-0777
Mikado Restaurant
brings you the intoxicating flavors of Japan and Korea all in one cozy
little spot. The hibachi tables get our focus most of the time when
we're here, because you get that fresh delicious food prepared right in
front of you along with a hearty dose of traditional entertainment! The
sushi is also really worth your time though, with a really noteworthy
maki sushi menu that you will not believe. Try the naked roll, the
dragon roll, and the rock and roll roll! Too good. There are lots of
traditional Japanese entrees to enjoy too, such as teriyaki chicken and
teriyaki beef, and if we're not mistaken we've seen chicken katsu on
the menu as well, though we haven't tried it yet. Lots of good stuff
for everybody! 7 South St Glens Falls, NY 12801 (518) 798-0033
Talk of the Town Restaurant & Pizzeria
has definitely got its fair share of fans. Many people have said that
they've got the best pizza in all of upstate New York, and though we're
sure some people who are loyal to other pizzerias would disagree with
that, we would agree that they make the list of the best of the best!
The crust is so delicious and buttery, and that sauce... oh that sauce!
It's too good to believe. We love to come in and watch the games while
we nosh on the giant pizzas. You can't go wrong with the kielbasa
sausage on any pie, and of course the pineapple is a really delicious
addition too. Note that you cannot order by the slice, so bring your
friends and enjoy a whole pie! 74 Hudson Ave Glens Falls, NY 12801 (518) 798-3348
Siam Thai
has both Thai food and delicious sushi, which is a combination that we
can never resist! There are only a couple of options for sushi in this
area, and we'd say this is the best one, though they're both good.
There are lots of vegetarian options for you to enjoy, and the sushi is
very high quality here as well. The menu does focus mostly on the Thai
side of things, but that is their specialty so we can't complain! The
decor is gorgeous, the music is good, and the service is very good
though it can be a little bit slow at times. You can also get bubble
tea here, and we enjoy the pineapple and jasmine flavors the best! The
pad thai and pot stickers are the best from the Thai menu, and the
yakuza roll is our favorite from the sushi menu. Very highly
recommended! 200 Glen St Glens Falls, NY 12801 (518) 792-6111
