Rainbow Heaven
has a nice array of flavors of the Orient, including both Chinese food
and Japanese sushi. Though the decor is quite basic here, nothing much
to look at or to really speak of, that just means that the food can
claim center stage, and it certainly does. The hamachi roll and the
rainbow roll are our two favorite things on the menu. We've had better
sushi than this in NYC of course, but for the Hornell area this is
quite impressive. The tempura is really delicious too, and they've got
all those delicious Japanese noodle dishes too, though it's hard to get
past the sushi to order those! Everything here is just fantastic. Very
highly recommended! 76 Seneca St Hornell, NY 14843 (607) 324-1688
Billy Schu's Food Bar
is such a Hornell institution, we couldn't imagine leaving it off this
list. It's one of those places that all the locals know and love, but
the visitors to the area often don't find it because of its obscure
location on a side street. We love it that way! Because like Cheers,
everybody knows each other here. You can come in for just a delicious
coffee and to relax, or dive into a full hearty meal. The buffalo
chicken flatbread pizza is one of our favorite things to order, and we
also love all their soups and desserts. The enormous portions are
another thing that they're known for, so if you're really hungry, this
is a great place to go! Awesome ambiance. Our highest recommendation. 15 Seneca St Hornell, NY 14843 (607) 324-9884
Marino's Restaurant
is a wonderful Italian restaurant, and though it hasn't been around for
too long, it has really become a big part of our city's landscape. We
love the rich history of the building that it's housed in, and that
adds a certain air of longevity to this relatively new gem. That wooden
bar is such a classic piece of furniture, you'd think it was there
forever. There are multiple dining areas here, including the front
dining area with the bar, the back dining area, and the two dining
areas upstairs, so there's more than enough space here. The food is
very good, traditional Italian dishes with just the right amount of
kick and flavor. Wonderful service, and a waitstaff that's quite
knowledgeable about the menu. We know you'll enjoy it here just as much
as we do. 110 Loder St Hornell, NY 14843 (607) 324-5896
Club 57
is another one of the more upscale restaurants located in Hornell, this
one very cozy and romantic, just perfect for those intimate dates with
the special person in your life. It's also very nice for a classy lunch
with your friends or family, and get togethers with friends in the
evenings. The drinks are very good, nice and strong, and the food is
very flavorful and prepared to order. The prices are of course a bit
higher here than elsewhere in the city, but that's no surprise. The
quality is on par with the prices so we can't complain! The service has
always been exceptional, and we really look forward to our visits to
this wonderful dining establishment. Very highly recommended! Hornell Arkport Rd Hornell, NY 14843 (607) 324-1143
Giovanni's Pizzeria Restaurant
is the place that we love to go in Hornell for their fabulous
stromboli, but that's only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all
the fabulous food that they offer here. It's true that the service can
be a bit slow here, but everything is worth the wait, and everything
always arrives piping hot. When it comes to ambiance there's not much
to talk about, there isn't much to look at here. But it's all about the
food, and with food this delicious, that's all that really matters! The
people who work here are always so friendly to us, and so willing to
stop and take a moment to chat. That's rare these days so we really
appreciate it, and you will too. 119 Seneca St Hornell, NY 14843 (607) 324-6000
The Country Kitchen
is easily recognized by that familiar white exterior and the gleaming
red roof. Nothing ever seems to change here... just the same wonderful
food and the same consistent service time after time. The breakfasts
are simply out of this world, prepared with real attention to detail
and real skill. When we were staying in the Hornell area, we came in
quite a few times and the waitstaff got to know what we ordered and
would just bring us the usual. It's rare to find a place where they'll
remember your name along with what you always order in these hectic
times! This is a real gem of a breakfast spot if you ask us, and we
would very highly recommend it to anyone. Hornell Arkport Rd Hornell, NY 14843 (607) 324-4551
Andy's Sub Shop
is the place to go if you are looking for really delicious subs. So
many people automatically head to one of the chain sub shops nowadays,
but those don't even come close to the quality that you will receive
here, and you'll be supporting a local business as well. They've got
nice long sub rolls here that taste fresh and flavorful, and lots of
different toppings so you can order one of the featured subs or just
tell them what you want on it. There aren't very many seats here,
so if you want to eat inside you may find yourself with a short wait,
but most people seem to grab carryout anyway so it shouldn't be too
much of a problem. Always a great meal here! 134 Main St Hornell, NY 14843 (607) 324-0043
Texas Cafe
is the place that we go for our Texas hots when we're in Hornell, and
we have never been disappointed! There's nothing like biting into one
of those generously sized dogs with the chili sauce smeared all over it
in a hearty fashion... They're very authentic to the original Texas
hots here, and that's what we love so much about them. Gotta love that
spicy brown mustard and the fresh onions too. The service is always so
fast and friendly here, and there's just no more convenient stop than
this when you are cravings something that's both quick and filling.
Everything else on the menu is very good too! Make sure to stop in next
time you're in Hornell and tell them we sent you. 29 Broadway Mall Hornell, NY 14843 (607) 324-9770
Friendly's Restaurant
is of course a chain restaurant which we don't recommend too often, not
because we don't enjoy chain restaurants (we do!) but because everybody
already knows all about them. However, Friendly's is a real staple in
Hornell, so we had to include it on this list. They've got really
delicious breakfasts where the plates are piled high, large hamburgers
that are just perfect for lunch, crisp salads with all the fixings,
entrees that will really make your mouth water for dinner, and of
course their ice cream gets top billing too. It's fun to come
here with the family, especially if you've got young kids in tow,
and everybody always has such a great time. Located conveniently on
Main Street. 41 E Main St Hornell, NY 14843 (607) 324-2045
The Sunset Restaurant
is another place that is known for its delicious pizza. We haven't
actually been to this one, but it's been recommended to us very highly
by several friends who insisted that we include it on this list! They
related to us that the pizza is really out of this world, nice and
large with just the perfect amount of sauce, cheese, and toppings. They
also raved about the service here, saying that it's one of the most
welcoming restaurants in the entire city, and though it's really
nothing fancy, it's always cozy and well lit. If you're looking for a
nice casual sit down restaurant where you can enjoy a hearty pizza pie
with your friends, this is it! 231 East Ave Hornell, NY 14843 (607) 324-6263
