Pizza Junction is rumored to have one of the very best steak and cheese subs around, and after downing many of them over the years, we are inclined to agree! Of course their pizzas are also fantastic, hence the name. This place has actually been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives with Guy Fieri, and there's a reason that that crew thought it was worth featuring! Trust us, you cannot beat the pizza and subs that you will find here. The wings too, are amazing! Note that you get huge portions of everything here, so you will get full on less than what you'd order elsewhere. Everybody loves the pepperoni, so no matter what you get on that pizza, make sure pepperoni gets its starring role!

Crazy Jake's has been a big part of the North Tonawanda scene for many years. It's fallen out of favor with a lot of the locals in recent years as newer restaurants have sprung up, but we find that the quality is still just as good as it ever was. They've got a gorgeous patio where you can enjoy the warm weather, and we really enjoy having a nice salad or perhaps a panini sandwich along with some wine while the sun is shining out there. They've got delicious homemade potato chips here too, which is always a nice complement to any meal. Great desserts too! The service can be a little bit slow here at times, and there can sometimes be a long wait for a table, but we think it's worth it. Always a nice experience here.

Sawyer Creek Hotel is a great place to stay when you're in the North Tonawanda area, but for our purposes we'll be focusing on the restaurant! We really love coming in for their delicious steaks, and for a starter you can't go wrong with that amazing old fashioned french onion soup. They've also got a noteworthy crab melt that everybody really loves, and if you want to go a little simpler than that, just opt for a perfectly cooked hamburger or a sandwich! The prices are always affordable here, and they've got a nice selection of beers on tap too. Very good service and the kind of atmosphere that is all too hard to find nowadays. Very highly recommended for all the reasons above and then some!

Hideaway Grille is such a beautiful place to dine when you're in North Tonawanda. They have a wide array of foods to suit just about anyone, from the most dedicated meat eaters to the most careful vegetarians. The prices are right too, even for this high quality of food! The atmosphere is one of the things that really keeps us coming back for more though. It's just beautiful. A real hideaway, hence the name! Great place to escape from the day to day grind. Their beer battered fish fry on Fridays is a great reason for us to get out of the house and go enjoy a great meal. The bar is very nice too, and the drink prices are moderate. When the weather is nice, opt to sit outside! Very nice outdoor seating area. Reservations are recommended when you can get them.

Nestor's Texas Red Hots is the most old fashioned and traditional diner style restaurant that you will find in North Tonawanda. We love the hots here, and you cannot go wrong with those amazing crispy fries and an ice cold soda! They've got a very cool retro vibe here, with deliberate fifties style decorations that feel more authentic than new. One of the things that keeps this place authentically retro is the fact that it's cash only... we aren't fans of that since we typically pay with plastic, but they do have an ATM on the premises so it's not so bad!  Try the chicken souvlaki and all their wonderful breakfast items. We miss the days when they were open all night!

Pane's Restaurant is one of our favorite places to grab a great pizza when we are in the area! They're always busy here, so reservations are a good idea, and they do accept them. Pizza isn't the only thing you can get here though it seems to be what they're famous for. They have all your Italian favorites, including wonderful eggplant and veal, delicious pastas, wonderful chicken, and of course that famous spaghetti. They also have a really nice selection of wines and beers, so if you'd like to relax with a drink during your dinner, you can have your pick from that list, and the servers will be happy to help you choose something really good too if you're not sure what you want. Cool casual atmosphere. We love it!

Country Cottage Restaurant has been around since 1948 if you can believe that! We love the old fashioned ambiance and the awesome home cooked food. They have very good breakfasts that are worth a trip, and we come in for that on a semi-regular basis. They do have pizza here, but it's just for takeout, so don't expect to come in and split a huge pie with your friends, though that would be nice! There's quite an interesting history to this restaurant if you feel like chatting with the servers or the owners to find out about it. Lots of cool stories from yesteryear. If you do ask about those old stories, be sure to ask about the pig dinner! Though they don't have that anymore, they certainly do still have those old fashioned portions! We love it. And we know you will too.

Mia Pizzeria is one of those great little pizza and wings places that nobody can resist! They make everything fresh here, so it's always super good, served hot, and made with the highest quality ingredients, which of course is that factor that really makes all the difference. The crust is nice and thin here, but still good and chewy as opposed to being crunchy. They go a little light on the pepperoni here by our standards so we usually order double. The wings are also really fantastic, and that says a lot since every place in town claims to have the best! This may just be the place that really does have the best wings. We've always loved this place and feel very comfortable recommending it to you!

Submasters has gotten rave reviews for quite some time, and our friends kept telling us about this place so we finally had to break down and go try it! We were really surprised by how great it was. The pizzas are really out of this world, sprinkled with a nice generous amount of cheese and plenty of hearty toppings. We really loved the pepperoni here. Really spicy and full of flavor. The crust is nice and thin so the sauce and toppings get top billing, and we like that.  The chicken fingers and fries were also top notch. Note that the bleu cheese is the real deal here, with nice chunks of cheese throughout! Gotta love that. Very cool staff, always friendly and fast. If you're not in the mood for a sub or pizza, try the salad. It's great!

The Original Pizza Shack actually seems to be known more for their wings than their pizza! Or maybe that's just in our circle of friends. In any case, everything on this menu is superb. They keep things basic and old fashioned here, just the usual flavors like mild, medium, and hot, plus the suicide wings that are not for the faint of heart! If you're looking for your Asian or Cajun wings, you won't find them here. We absolutely love the pizzas too, just the right thickness to the crust, the right amount of sauce, not too sweet not too tangy, and the perfect amount of cheese and toppings sprinkled on. These guys are true masters at the art of pizza. No wonder this restaurant has been around for so long. Recommended!
