Oswego Sub Shop
is one of our top favorite sub shops ever, in any location, and that's
why we chose it for the top of this list of great bars and restaurants
in Oswego. Everything here is always so good, the price is always
right, and the service is really good too. We love their Italian
grinders, and you also can't go wrong with a cheeseburger grinder.
Really delicious and messy, if you can appreciate that as much as we
do! The subs are just enormous. Try the chicken parmesan sub too! You
can really get the full size sub and get a couple of meals out of it if
you can stop yourself half way through! That's a difficult task though
when the food is this good! We can never resist eating the whole thing.
Very highly recommended for any lovers of subs and grinders in the
Oswego area! 106 W Bridge St Oswego, NY 13126 (315) 343-1233
Canale's Restaurant
is a great spot to go for wonderful Italian food and pizza! So good.
The baked ziti is one of our favorite choices, and the chicken parmesan
is another one that we can just never resist. We love to come in with a
group of friends for a low key lunch or dinner. We enjoy the wine here
though it's not the finest selection out there, but that's ok with us.
Like we said, 'low key," and we enjoy it that way. They have very good
crispy fried raviolis which is a nice change of pace, and we have also
enjoyed the chicken scallopini on several occasions. The only thing we
could possibly complain about here is that the chicken dishes do not
come with pasta unless you ask for it, but that's something that varies
from restaurant to restaurant anyway. Great gnocchi here too! You don't
want to miss this place. 156 Utica St Oswego, NY 13126 (315) 343-3540
Rudy's Lakeside Drive-In
is a cozy little diner stop where you can enjoy some of the best
hamburgers, hot dogs, and even seafood. The location can't be beat,
with a wonderful view of the lake, and yet it's got that kind of low
key small town atmosphere that we all enjoy so much. They have some of
the most delicious salt potatoes here. They give you a generous amount
of salty butter with it, and it's just so good. All your fried
favorites are here including smelt, scallops, clams, and even haddock,
which is one of our favorites. Truly some of the best fried fish we
have had anywhere in the area. For dessert, do not miss their famous
rice pudding. Everybody loves it and we're certain that you will too! 78 County Route 89 Oswego, NY 13126 (315) 343-2671
Port City Cafe & Bakery
is a wonderful bet if you're hanging out with your friends in Oswego
and you need to find a spot to go where you can get some really good
grub and some great drinks too. We love the coffee here, specifically
the Green Mountain Coffee, it's so good. It pairs so well with
one of their pilgrim sandwiches or perhaps a chicken cordon bleu or
even the roast beef. They also have a really great selection of paninis
for you to choose from. We've never had anything but a very pleasant
experience here when we have come in for lunch and a hot coffee. Very
highly recommended if you like a relaxing atmosphere and friendly
service, and who doesn't? One of our top picks. 209 W 1st St Oswego, NY 13126 (315) 343-2412
Fajita Grill
is what we'd almost classify as fast food, very much like Chipotle, but
we love it so much. The food is of course much higher quality than what
you'd find at an actual fast food restaurant. When you're coming in for
a quick meal in the middle of a hard work day, you never have to worry
about slow service or having to wait too long for your food to be
prepared. This place (again, much like Chipotle) is very often compared
to Subway, because you tell them what you want in your burrito just
like you tell them what you want in your sub. Kind of a craft your own
burrito joint, and we love that! Always a great time here, and a nice
laid back place to go for dinner when you don't feel like getting too
dressed up! 244 W Seneca St Oswego, NY 13126 (315) 326-0224
Azteca Mexican Grill
is yet another one of our favorite Mexican places in the area. They're
very fast here when it comes to the service, so you never find yourself
having to wait too long when you're in a big hurry, and yet you get a
really wonderful meal that doesn't feel rushed at all. The chips and
salsa are fantastic and a great starter. We really enjoy their chiles
poblanos and the chicken enchiladas, and they have a wide variety of
those excellent Mexican sodas here too. If you prefer your liquid of
the harder variety, you'll be happy to know that they have delicious
fresh margaritas here and a pretty cool bar to enjoy too! Nice kids
menu too though it's American fare. You may just opt for the tacos for
your kids. Kids love 'em! 53 E Bridge St Oswego, NY 13126 (315) 341-7045
The Press Box
is a very cozy bar and restaurant that we have been to a couple of
times when we have been in Oswego recently. We were so impressed with
our experience there that we just had to include it on this list. Their
mushroom hamburger was really delicious! That's one of our favorite
things to get anywhere and this was one of the best we've had. They've
got a great breakfast menu here too! If you're looking for a great
place to catch the game, as you can tell from the name, this is a good
spot to do it. Lots of televisions around, all HD with both digital
cable and satellite so you can find almost any game. They've got all
your favorite beers here including Bass, Harp, and Shocktop, and a
great outdoor seating area to enjoy when the weather is good. Warm
weather, ice cold beer.... that's a combination we can never resist. 29 E 1st St Oswego, NY 13126 (315) 343-0308
Wade's Diner
has been a huge part of the Oswego experience for as long as we can
remember. We're not really sure how long it's been there but we have
been visiting it for the past thirty years. The breakfasts are all they
do here, and they are just out of this world, true greasy spoon diner
style! We'd recommend the cinnamon raisin toast and their big fluffy
omelettes! Can't go wrong with that. Of course that giant pancake is
always a nice choice too. It's true that there can be a long line to
dine here, but it's always worth that wait, and the people do get in
and out pretty fast so even a long line goes by quickly. Very highly
recommended for anyone who can appreciate a great diner breakfast! 176 E 9th St Oswego, NY 13126 (315) 343-6429
Lombardo's Bridie Manor
is the most upscale choice on this list, making it the perfect choice
for those special occasions where nothing but the best food and service
will do. The location is really noteworthy, located on the river with a
really beautiful view. Ask to sit in the Florida room if you'd like to
enjoy the best view. We love it. It's true that the food can take a
little while longer here, but that's because everything is fresh.
They've got a very nice variety of sandwiches here that we really
enjoy, including a hot turkey sandwich and a hot roast beef sandwich,
both of which we have enjoyed many times. Try the tuna salad sandwich
too, it's too good to believe. Amazing dessert selection too, so save
some room! You'll be very glad that you did. 1830 Bridie Mnr Oswego, NY 13126 (315) 342-1830
Cam's New York Pizzeria...
one more pizzeria for the road because we just can't resist this place!
There's a reason that they include New York in the name of the
establishment, and that's because you can get that authentic New York
pizza here that you really love! Everybody says this place is their
favorite and there's no question why. The plain cheese pie is just out
of this world, and we recommend getting some bleu cheese on the side to
dip it in. There's just nothing better than that., but the garlic pizza
is a close second, and some would say that's tops! Dining in definitely
beats delivery because it's just so great when it's served and eaten
piping hot. Free wifi too so you can get a little work done on the
laptop while you wait for your pizza. Can't beat that! 31 W Bridge St Oswego, NY 13126 (315) 342-4255
