Browns Brewing Co: The Taproom is one of our favorite hangout spots in Troy. We love the bar atmosphere, so perfect for celebrations with good friends. The beer selection is really fantastic here, with lots of great options for those who like pale ale, dark beer, and even those fruity concoctions like cherry raspberry ale that the ladies love so much! There is truly something for everybody here. They have delicious beer battered fries here that are just wonderful, and for dessert you can't go wrong with their famous chocolate porter cake! The gorgeous river view from the deck in back is one of the major perks about coming here. Summer nights are so fun at Browns.  Also be sure to try their nachos and french onion soup! Both are so delicious. Lots of fun times here! Highly recommended!

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que has many locations in New York, but we are big fans of this Troy location in particular. They've got wonderful ribs here, just perfectly cooked so that they fall off the bone, and they're so flavorful. The wings are really great with that wango tango sauce, yum! They've gor brisket here that you will not want to pass up, and macaroni and cheese that will drive anybody wild with cheesy desire! Even the fries and corn bread are just amazing. They've got excellent pies here for dessert, so after you're all stuffed with barbecued goodness you can add a little sweetness on top. Mmmm. Such a perfect way to end a perfect meal! Both the service and the ambiance here are top notch, and just the way a great barbecue restaurant should be. No complaints from us, we love this place!

DeFazio's Pizzeria is the name you need to know when you're in Troy. They have the thickest, most delicious, gooey cheesy pizza that we have ever laid our tastebuds on! Mmm mm good. We love the four cheese with either white or red sauce (it comes standard with the white but they're happy to do it with red if you like). It includes gorgonzola cheese, and needless to say that adds a completely different dimension of flavor to it. For toppings we love the red roasted peppers, goat cheese, and chicken, and to change things up sometimes we'll get pesto sauce instead of the white or red! Now that is something that's just too good to believe. You are allowed to bring your own wine in, and that's always a great idea when you're enjoying pizza this good. Wine and pizza, what a perfect combo.

Jose Malones is a restaurant that combines Mexican and Irish delights, and that's such a rare combo, we're pretty certain that we've never seen it before. They've got unbelievable catfish tacos here, sweet potato gallette, margaritas, salsa roja, sesame coriande ahi, goat cheese and pineapple quesadilla, ribs, and even all your favorite top shelf liquors so you can ask that bartender to craft the cocktail of your dreams. Oh wait -- before we forget -- let's go ahead and insist that you try the pulled pork nachos when you come in, because they are just too good to be believed! We make sure to get that as an appetizer every time we come in. Everything about this place just screams quality. Very highly recommended to anyone who can enjoy a hearty meal from two different corners of the world.

Ali Baba is a wonderful Mediterranean restaurant on 15th Street that we simply can't get over. Their lavash bread is baked on the premises, and it's one of the major highlights of the menu. You'll really enjoy their chicken curry pizza, and we're big fans of both their hommous and their yogurt sauce. You won't have a difficult time choosing something here even if you're brand new to Mediterranean food, because the menu has great pictures so you can check everything out. It's quiet and charming, ambiance-wise, and the service is always super friendly and helpful. We really love their kabobs, and their rice is very good too. You can actually watch them cooking that wonderful lavash bread in their oven, and they bring it out all puffed up and fresh, making your mouth water even more! Love it!

Plum Blossom Chinese Restaurant is a truly elegant place to go for a delicious Asian meal any night of the week. The exterior holds no clue to the wonders that are hidden inside. A real hidden gem on Hoosick Road! From the moment you come in you'll feel very welcome, with the staff catering to your every whim and helping you to choose the best appetizers, entrees, and desserts. We love the fried wontons and the sumai, and the Dragon and Phoenix dinner is a great choice, as is the wonton soup. Don't miss the tangerine beef, or even the spicy fish with lemongrass! They have delicious and unique desserts here too, so be sure to save some room and find out what they are serving that day. This is truly one of our favorite Chinese restaurants in all of New York.

Shalimar Restaurant is bringing delicious Indian food to Troy, and we love it. They have a wonderful buffet here which is a great start for someone who is brand new to Indian cuisine. There are typically a half dozen or so different choices on the buffet, enough to give you a great sample of their main entrees and learn what you really love about Indian food. The flavor is fantastic here, very savory and pungent. There's not much to look at here, in fact we wish they would put some time and money into fixing it up, but the focus is really on the food and when it's this good, you don't need any eye candy. It IS very clean, and that's what matters most. Try the veggie samosas and the chicken karahi, as well as the balucci chicken! We're certain you'll enjoy them all.

X's to O's Vegan Bakery is the place to go if you are looking for truly healthy and delicious baked goods! Their chocolate chip blondies are purely addictive to us, we just can't imagine walking in to this place without getting one! They also have amazing oatmeal raisin cookies that are just filled with delicious oatmeal and raisins... so flavorful and chewy! The brownies are of course amazing here, just packed with chocolate and totally irresistible even to non-chocolate lovers. We have tried some very questionable vegan baked items in the past, so it was such a relief to find this place and realize that healthy does not have to mean bland, even when it comes to delights like this. Try it for yourself next time you're in Troy and find out what you have been missing!

Beirut Restaurant is another Mediterranean restaurant that we just couldn't stand to leave off this list. It's truly what we'd call a hole in the wall restaurant, so small and easy to miss if you're not looking for it, but the food is just stellar. They've got delicious homemade baklava that will really tickle your sweet tooth, and delicious garlic sauce that will drive you wild. You'll want to smear it on every single thing you order. It's true that you're actually eating on paper plates with plastic silverware here, but you won't mind that at all when you see how amazing the food is. Try their beef shawarma and their hommous, they are both just so good and so filling. You can in fact bring your own wine here, so enjoy yourself and pour yourself a glass. You'll have a wonderful time here.

Bacchus is a fantastic pizzeria, serving some of the most delicious wood fired pizza that you will ever come across. They have one of the widest arrays of toppings that we have ever seen, so you can really jazz up your pizza to your liking. They have an incredibly friendly staff, and they really welcome you into the restaurant so you can come on in, sit down, and enjoy that pizza as well as your wine or micobrew. They have Carmenere and Malbec by the glass, so make a note of that and be sure to visit whenever you're in Troy! That's so rare and worth a trip. Note that the pizza is not the greasy NYC style that you may be craving -- this is more of a gourmet pizza, non-greasy, just filled with toppings and everything SO good! Thin crust, fresh ingredients.... you get the picture. It's mouth wateringly good.
