City Limits Diner
is a really pleasant surprise in White Plains. It's not at all what
you'd expect a "diner" to be--really more of a Latin-inspired home
cooked family style restaurant! We love their salsa verde and salsa
roja, and their guacamole is also really noteworthy! All of those go
very well with the chorizo sausage and egg quesadilla. Mmm! And
breakfast is served all day. Going beyond the breakfast menu, they have
delicious spicy chicken rolls as well as a really good beef stew, and
the pork chops are also very nice. You can get great hangar steak wraps
as well, and even veal meatloaf. We could go on and on about all the
wonderful food here, but the best thing is really to go on over there
and check it out for yourself. Very highly recommended for a hearty
meal in White Plains! 200 Central Ave White Plains, NY 10606 (914) 686-9000
Asian Temptation
is such a delightful place to go for delicious Asian food in a really
pleasing atmosphere. They've got a koi pond and waterfall here that
makes you feel like you've stepped into a Chinese restaurant from back
in the day, and the food is also of that high quality that you would
have expected if you stepped into a time machine, except they've got
all your modern favorites like sushi and sashimi! The chef salad is
really a treat here, comprised of fresh greens and an assortment of
sashimi! Now that's really right up our alley and probably yours too!
They have a three roll lunch special that will help you save a few
bucks while also getting a very generously sized meal. Three levels,
excellent service, alcoholic beverages, a mix of Vietnamese, Chinese,
Japanese, and overall Asian influences... this place is a real winner,
no doubt about it! 23 Mamaroneck Avenue White Plains, NY 10601 (914) 328-5151
The Cheesecake Factory
is of course known for their cheesecakes, but they have a full menu of
delicious lunch and dinner items so you can come in and enjoy a hearty
meal before you even take a look at those mouth watering cakes! The
white chocolate raspberry cheesecake is our absolute favorite, and we
believe that once you taste it you'll agree! It's irresistible. The
vanilla bean cheesecake is another one that we can't resist, and the
key lime is of course a real pleasure. When it comes to the actual
food, the prices are really reasonable and the portions are quite
enormous. Their avocado egg rolls are really out of this world, and we
love their Thai chicken lettuce wraps too. All of their pastas are very
good too. Beautiful interior and very popular, so expect a wait if you
come at peak times! 1 Maple Ave White Plains, NY 10601 (914) 683-5253
Peniche Tapas Restaurant
is an excellent tapas restaurant, and we have really fallen in love
with it. The menu changes quite often here, so we don't want to point
out too many specific items in case they don't have them at the time
that you go, but we have really enjoyed the chorizo and the feveras
here. The tortillas espaolas are really fantastic, and when it comes to
dessert you simply cannot go wrong with those cinnamon covered churros.
Again, they may or may not have these things when you dine there. Some
of the selections are pricier than others, but if you're looking to
save dough you can put together a relatively moderately priced meal
here with some careful choosing. The staff here is very attentive and
knowledgeable about the menu. And your glass will never go empty.
Wonderful place. 175 Main St White Plains, NY 10601 (914) 421-5012
P.F. Chang's China Bistro
is one of the few chain restaurants that we will really go wild over,
and we just had to recommend this particular location in White Plains.
We're absolutely hooked on their delicious green tea noodles, so much
that we often order the large order to go and that's not even on the
menu! Our favorite here used to be the toasted sesame seed encrusted
ahi tuna, but unfortunately that does not seem to be a part of the menu
anymore. Of course that pairs extremely well with the green tea
noodles. The Mongolian beef is very good here, and we love the Chang's
Spicy Chicken too. This is one of the smaller locations, so the wait
can be a little bit longer. We recommend reservations to cut through
some of that. Don't skip the lettuce wraps with that wonderful sauce
that they make at the table! Any one of their hot teas will be a
perfect choice with your meal. 125 Westchester Ave White Plains, NY 10601 (914) 997-6100
Haiku Asian Bistro
is a very cool lounge style eatery, more high end than most Asian
restaurants and definitely very comfortable too. They have excellent
hot and sour soup as well as tasty wontons, but even better than that
is their seafood soup (oh the flavor!). The snow mountain roll from the
sushi side of things is comprised of shrimp tempura, lobster salad,
caviar, and cucumber. That's such a refreshing combination, both in
flavor and in uniqueness. They have everything here from Szechuan
delights to Thai delicacies, from Japanese sushi to good old American
alcoholic beverages. The prices here are a bit too high even for us,
especially when combined with the hit or miss service, but we love the
food so much that we don't mind it. Recommended on the basis of
the food and the ambiance. 149 Mamaroneck Ave White Plains, NY 10601 (914) 644-8887
Aberdeen Seafood & Dim Sum
is just all around delectable! This is the kind of restaurant where
they actually push the dim sum carts around for you to choose what you
like. The selections here are really amazing. First off, note that they
have a wonderful house soup that you will not find on the menu. It's
totally authentic, and that's the first thing you'll want to order if
you are seeking truly authentic Chinese soup. In terms of the dim sum,
you'll love the pork buns, the shrimp dumplings, the sticky rice, and
that fabulous turnip cake. They've got a great selection of bubble teas
too, and that's always fun! This place is more old school than modern,
and that's unique for a dim sum restaurant. Most try to be too slick,
but not this place. High quality, great service, wonderful ambiance. 3 Barker Ave White Plains, NY 10601 (914) 288-0188
Emma's Ale House
is a great place to go for both food and drinks when you are in the
White Plains area! If you're coming in late on a weekend evening,
you'll want to enjoy some of their wonderful beer selection, or perhaps
a glass of wine or one of their trendy specialty cocktails. When it
comes to dining, we would very heartily recommend the Guinness braised
beef stew, which combines two of our all time favorites, and the
appetizers, burgers, and wraps are all excellent choices too. They have
an unbelievable Krispy Kreme bread pudding here that you've just got to
try too! It's served a la mode with caramel sauce. Enough said. 68 Gedney Way White Plains, NY 10605 (914) 683-3662
BLT Steak
is an awesome steakhouse, with so many of our favorite dishes as well
as really excellent service. Their hangar steak is just fantastic, and
we also really enjoy the lemon rosemary chicken. The glazed carrots
here are ridiculously addictive, you'll want more and more and more.
Great french fries too, and a Caesar salad that's really to die for.
They have excellent popovers here too! The grilled asparagus is one of
our favorite sides when it's available, and as far as the steaks go,
we'd also recommend the rib eye or the prime rib. Of course you can
never go wrong with a good filet if it's in your budget. This place
does it right, and we have zero complaints. 221 Main St White Plains, NY 10601 (914) 467-5500
Seasons Japanese Bistro
is a really special place to go. They've got a wonderful weekend brunch
here that we have taken advantage of a time or two, and that includes
all you can eat sushi! Enough said. We believe we could stop the review
right here! Any day of the week you can come in and enjoy their
fabulous dynamite rolls and spicy salmon skin rolls, and we'd also
recommend their vegetable tempura and potato cakes! They have fried
oysters here too that are just so flavorful and they melt in your
mouth. Great sushi takeout here too, so you can just come in and grab a
quick meal on the go! Gotta love that. It's dimmer here than at most
restaurants we frequent, making it perfect for intimate dates! The
retro decor is authentic, and we kind of like it. Check this one out
when you get a chance. 105 Mamaroneck Ave White Plains, NY 10601 (914) 421-1163
