Jamestown Party Bus

Jamestown, New York is known for a lot of things, and their wonderful bars and restaurants are definitely one of them! These are our top picks for lounges and eateries in the zip codes of 14701 and 14702.

Forte is a truly gorgeous restaurant in Jamestown, one of the more upscale establishments on this list, and definitely our top choice for impressive dates or business lunches and dinners. The bar is one of the main reasons that we come in, and we love the fact that you can both drink and dine at the bar. They've got a small selection of wines by the glass, but since it's carefully selected it's better than a large list that isn't. We love their cajun scallops with risotto, and they've got a nice offering of sushi that we love as well!  On really busy nights you can forget about even getting close to the bar, so if you want to beat the crowds, plan your arrival time carefully! Very highly recommended though it's typically packed.

Phil-N-Cindy's Lunch, despite the name, is known for its breakfasts! Everyone that we know adores their pancakes and french toast, and we love their superbly crispy bacon. Cooked just perfectly. As far as the pancakes go, they have a nice variety of them, ranging from the usual plain variety to blueberry and chocolate chip! We love that everything is prepared right in front of your eyes. Our only complaint is that they do not accept credit cards, so put the plastic away and make a quick stop at the ATM before you come in. The food is of such high quality here, just so superbly tasty, that it's worth whatever your ATM fees might be, and it's even worth an out-of-the-way trip to that ATM! Trust us!

Pace's Pizzeria has gotten rave reviews as one of the very best pizzerias in Jamestown. We love the fact that they eschew the trends of super thin crust or hearty deep dish, and just serve up a nice medium-bodied crust that showcases the toppings and the cheese. We really love both their red sauced pizzas and their white no-sauce pizzas! So much that we often order one of each. It's the perfect pairing. The casual atmosphere is perfect for an after-work get together with friends or a dinner with the family. Totally unpretentious but kept very clean and nicely decorated. This is the kind of pizzeria that you wish every neighborhood still had, but they are all too rare nowadays! Really a great place any day of the week!

AJ Texas Hots is of course known for their hots, and we also love their juicy burgers! Their burgers are basically slider-style but what makes the difference is that they pour on lots of gravy and onions (just like the hot dogs!) and it's really out of this world. We have tried to find other places that make them this good, and they just simply don't exist. AJ Texas Hots is in a class of its own. You'll also want to order some of those fries and dip them in the gravy (or just pour it on over!). The staff is incredibly nice here too, really going out of their way to make sure that you are having a wonderful time at their cozy little greasy spoon restaurant. Definitely gets a recommendation from us!

Taco Hut Restaurant is THE place for Tex Mex in Jamestown. You will not find better chili than this! They stew up some delicious meat into a fabulous sauce that's served over their famous refried beans, and of course they melt a hearty amount of cheese on top of that... it's so good, you won't be able to resist seconds. They've got a noteworthy menu here if only because it's so extensive, and there are lots of great options on it for both meat eaters and vegetarians alike. We really love the soft tacos with beans, and the nachos are also very tasty. The burritos are really huge and very cheap. It's always a good time at this restaurant, and the food is always hot and fresh. No wonder the locals rave about it!

Many people have told us that Lena's Pizza Restaurant has the best pizza in the city, and after a few times of trying it for ourselves, we'd vouch for that fact too! They've got one of the best crunchy crusts that we have ever tasted, and we really love the heavily sprinkled on cheese! Mmm... They have a very good sauce here too, that's got just the right amount of sweetness. The slices are square too, which is something that we like a lot. Overall just a very good pizza joint with all the wonderful perks that you'd expect from any establishment in Jamestown! The service is always really excellent here even when they are completely packed with customers. Conveniently located on Fairmont Avenue.

La'scala Restaurant is one of the most hyped restaurants in Jamestown, and we're happy to say that the hype is all true! We LOVE love love the food here. Just can't say enough about how high quality it is. It's true that there can be a bit of a long wait sometimes, but that's to be expected with the quality of the restaurant and the food is just this good. They keep it very clean here, and we love the retro classic ambiance that makes you feel like you're treating yourself to something special, which you are. We're big fans of lobster bisque, and they have some of the best that we have ever tasted. You'll definitely want to come in next time you're in town. You can't beat the flavor and the quality here!

Fifties Grill & Dairy is deliciously retro and just as high quality as everything used to be back in the day! We love that. They keep it very clean and tidy here, and we love the ambiance with lots of posters of Lucille Ball as a nod to her Jamestown heritage. You'll want to opt for the delicious hamburgers here, and the baskets of fried shrimp are always a great option for the seafood lovers. We adore the ambiance so we tend to eat in, but you can also take advantage of their drive-thru if you're in a rush. No better way to get all the flavor in less time! The service is very friendly and fast here, and we really appreciate that because some of the greasy spoons we've visited in this area can't make that claim! One of our favorite diners, hands down!

The Pub is an essential when you're in Jamestown, and the name couldn't be any easier to remember! The location is an easy one to store in the ol' memory bank too--right there on Main Street along with everything else! The beef on weck sandwiches are our absolute favorite thing here because they really do them right. If you're not in the mood for that, perhaps you'll want to try the eggplant parmesan sandwich, which everyone loves. No matter what you get, order a side of Mary's sweet pasta sauce, because it's excellent on everything! Sometimes we wonder if we're coming in for the food or the sauce! This place is of course owned by Jim McCusker of football fame. Very highly recommended!

The Wine Cellar, like The Pub which we mentioned previously, has a name that's impossible to forget and a convenient location right on Main Street. We love coming in here for some delicious drinks any night of the week. Their draft specials simply cannot be beat, and they've got one of those beers around the world tours that you can complete at your leisure and then get some serious recognition for it (a swanky plaque, of course!). The ambiance of this bar is old school casual, just like the New York bars back in the day. The service reminds us of the good old days too, and whether or not you were actually there for those good old days is irrelevant. It's time to rediscover them, and this is the perfect place to do so.
